Information regarding a potential security incident
Protecting our customers’ data is a top priority for Salt. In the interest of transparency, we would like to inform you about a security incident that may have involved certain non-sensitive personal data of Salt Mobile SA customers.
Following reports circulating online regarding a possible Salt customer data leak, our teams carried out extensive checks.
These checks allowed us to rule out any unauthorised intrusion into Salt systems and to identify a misuse of an existing access to a peripheral system. The necessary measures were taken immediately to secure the affected access points and further strengthen our security measures.
As this peripheral system has only limited access to Salt data, sensitive data such as passwords, banking details or customer history data cannot have been affected by this incident.
The personal data concerned is limited to the following information: first and last name, postal address, mobile phone number, date of birth and email address.
As a precaution, we recommend that you remain particularly vigilant when receiving suspicious emails, SMS messages or calls that use your personal information.
Salt or our partners will never ask you by email, SMS or phone to provide a password, banking details or any other confidential information.
Protecting our customers’ data is of fundamental importance to us. This is why we continuously invest in the security of our systems. In addition to the immediate measures taken, we will continue to strengthen our detection and protection mechanisms, including through a broader review of our processes and access controls.
Thank you for your attention. If you have any questions, our team is available at data@salt.ch.
