Salt eSIM.

Activate your eSIM on your iPhone

What is an eSIM?

  • The “e” stands for embedded, meaning that the SIM card is integrated into the device and cannot be removed.
  • The manufacturer (such as Apple, Samsung, etc.) installs the eSIM chip directly into the smartphone, tablet or smartwatch.
  • Salt subsequently uploads the eSIM profile to the device, including data about the subscription and telephone number etc. This means that a physical SIM card is no longer necessary.
  • eSIM are available in all the Salt Stores as an eSIM voucher. Find a Salt Store.

Devices compatible with eSIM

All iPhones launched since September 2018 with at least iOS 12.1 are supporting the eSIM and the dual SIM function:

  • iPhone XR,
  • iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max
  • iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max
  • iPhone SE 2020 (launched in April 2020)

All the Samsung Galaxy S20 series are also supporting the eSIM:

  • Galaxy S20 5G
  • Galaxy S20+
  • Galaxy S20 Ultra

These smartphones can work with either only the eSIM or only the Nano SIM or with both SIMs used as a dual SIM function. In case only one SIM is needed, we recommend to using the NANO SIM and not the eSIM

The eSIM is sold in all our Salt Stores as an eSIM voucher (see picture below). The standard activation fees of CHF 59.- apply.

Important

Before starting the process
