Fiber Box X6 setup and configuration video.

Before setting up your Fiber Box X6, please check that your fiber-optic line is active.

You have received an email confirming that your connection is active. If you haven’t received it yet, you will receive it as soon as your services are ready. 

Verify the contents of the package

Make sure it includes:

• Fiber Box X6 (black device)
• Welcome card with Wi-Fi connection details
• Fiber-optic cable
• Power supply
   

Access your administrator password

Before configuring your Fiber Box X6 via the admin console on your computer, take a photo of the administrator password located on the bottom of the device. This will prevent you from having to move it once installed.
To access the label, turn the box upside down and gently slide the base in the direction of the arrow. Then, place it back securely.

Remove the cap from the Fiber port

The fiber port is located on the right-hand side of your Fiber Box X6. Carefully remove the cap before plugging in the cable.
 

Handle the fiber-optic cable with care

The fiber-optic cable is extremely fragile. If the cable is bent, the fiber inside may break and prevent internet access. 
Place your Fiber Box X6 close to the fiber outlet to avoid bending or stretching the cable.

Never: bend it, run it under a door, place it in corners, or in walkways.

Connect the fiber-optic cable to your Fiber Box X6

Take the (smaller) rectangular end of the fiber-optic cable, remove its plastic cap, and insert it into the fiber port, following the correct direction.
Make sure the cable clicks into place and is firmly secured.

Connect the fiber-optic cable to the outlet. 

Check which port on your fiber-optic outlet to use. You will find this information in your activation email or in your account at mba.salt.ch → Subscriptions → Internet.
Then, remove the cap from the (larger) triangular end of the cable (do not touch the tip) and connect it to the correct port on the fiber-opticoutlet.
The port is located underneath the outlet and protected by a small hinged cover — pull it down gently to access it.
 

Power on your Fiber Box X6

Connect the power supply to the back of the Fiber Box X6 and plug it into a power outlet.
The box should automatically power on — the LEDs will flash for 2–5 minutes while the system synchronizes.
After about 10 minutes, all four LEDs should be on. Your connection is now active and ready to use.
 

Connect to your Wi-Fi

Scan the QR code on the “Welcome” card to instantly connect your smartphone.
For other devices, select the Wi-Fi name shown next to SSID (e.g. FiberBox_X6_XXX) and enter the password indicated on the same card.
 

Customize your settings (optional)

To manage advanced settings or change your Wi-Fi name and password, go to https://salt.box and log in using the GUI Password printed on the underside of your Fiber Box (see Step 1).
 

Final setup

Your Fiber Box X6 is now ready to use. You can now connect your Apple TV or fixed-line phone if applicable, and access all features of your Pro Office.
